Weather in Fuerteventura

Body

The days in the Canary Islands are long and sunny, with mild temperatures and few variations. The climate of Fuerteventura is a clear reflection of this: balmy and mild, with few oscillations, which makes it accessible 365 days a year.

Due to its orography, Fuerteventura is an island that hardly registers rainfall during the year. Nighttime temperatures on the island are usually cool in summer and comfortable in winter, allowing for restorative rest and enjoyable walks.

The trade winds (mainly from the north) offers optimal conditions for windsurfing and kitesurfing, especially during the spring and summer months.

The sun is an important presence on the islands. It influences the climate, everyday life and the way people are. And it has also been proven to have numerous properties: it is a source of vitamin D, it strengthens the bones, improves the mood, impacts sleep quality…

There are, however, certain precautions you should take when you are sunbathing:

  • Always use suitable sunscreen for your skin phototype.
  • Renew your sunscreen every 2 hours and when you come out of the water.
  • Avoid sunbathing between noon and 4 pm.
  • Be vigilant about how much sun children are subject to and protect them properly.
  • If you are going to spend several hours on the beach, don’t forget to take a sunshade.
